Default car broken into...now problems.

first time i started my car in two weeks since the break-in. the battery light stays on on the gauge panel. the factory volt gauge is in the red. the blinkers blink very fast like a bulb is out, which none are. not sure if brake lights are working or not. fog lights and headlights work. not throwing any codes. car starts right up without any problems just the gauges show that the car shouldnt be running

any help?

Sounds like you have a few different problems happening all at once.Maybe a coincidence I suppose? Is it driveable? If it is I would take it to Auto Zone and have them do a battery, charging system, and alternator test to see if these are the culprits.(Plus they will do it for free!)Is there any sign or indication that they tried to break into the steering column or ignition switch at all?I wonder if one of the battery cables is loose? Ive heard of thieves stealing a battery right out of the car after they just robbed it.Hopefully some of this helps,if not we'll have to move into more complex troubleshooting.

the batteries in the trunk and there was no sign of them trying to take that, nor even try to open the hood. i drove the car yesterday but it was lacking power and the problems that were stated above... it doesnt look the any damage was done to the steering column or ignition. ive gotten all the aftermarket gauge clusters that bolt on those and they arent messed up either.

ive gotten a pa performance alternator that i just got back about 3 months ago from having it diagnosed and it was fixed then and put on a couple tests and passed. its running an optima red top since thats the only battery ive been able to hold a charge with on my car.

wouldnt the alternator charge the battery once the car starts up? it starts up without any problems, no stall, no studder, just the volt gauge shows 0 amps
