Whinning noise under hood

Anyone know what a whinning noise under the hood of a 96 gt could be? It's not the power steering pump, already checked that but what ever it is its driving me crazy its so loud its drowning poy the soung of my flowmasters!!!!!!!

It's probably your belt tensioner. My 96 started to sound like it had a supercharger on it, it was getting so loud. I sold it at 98,000 miles and it was still fine. Just about guarantee that's your problem. Ford has had issues with that particular part. Couple of TSB's on it.

does it sound sorta like an ambulance? get stoned and drive it see if you think there is an ambulance following you. i know its happening on my 98 s281 as well
