today i was merging onto the hwy and was in it sort of hard off the bottle and it cut off. i pulled over and started it back up and it sounds like a diesel truck and is running like crap and a big loss of power. Any ideas what to check first. I cannot tell where it is knocking from it sould like it is all over. i have pulled coil packs and all plugs were still torqued to specs in the heads.

blown motor? dropped valve? carbon stuck in valve? Could be a ton of things. Most likely something we wont be able to help you with. Take the car somewhere or have a local tech take a look at it for you.

would a spun bearing cause a loose in power. and it to run rough

You have likely blown your engine, the exact problem could be any number of things--probably top-end (pistons, ring lands, wrist pins)...

Most likely you cracked one or more pistons, the OEM pistons in our cars are made of hypereutectic alloy--very strong, but also very brittle. Detonation kills 'em fast and you going "sort of hard off the bottle" probably drove the mix very lean and supersonic detonation did the rest...

i was running on my 87 stock tune when i did this. i have not ran the bottle in a while so i just stuck the stock tune back in.

Edit***i just realized that i had the 93 tune in and was on 87 for a hard pull. oh well time for a new motor.
