maybe u should read that thread also, there are people running stock 5.4 engines for less than $1200 but most are between $1500-2000, about the same as a 4.6 swap. it all depends on how cheap u can find the motor.

what is huge money that i was talking about compared to a 4.6?

Im talkin about if you plan on modding it. If you want to keep the stock hood you have to drop 700$ on an intake... headers ~1100 (like you said), then forging the bottom end is gonna cost a lot.

Thats a lot of money, unless Im missing something. My whole point is that its cheaper an smarter to mod the 4.6

well i have to buy a new motor that is cost effective and i really hate this 4.6 ive spun bearings in it twice now withing 1000 miles and dont tell me i beat it cuz the last time it spun i never broke 4gs and it spun the bearing i know a 5.4 would prolly be cheaper to aquire then a 4.6 because every body wants to have a 4.6 motor for there mustang and as for the comment of not have a high top end speed with the 5.4 im not looking for top end speed im looking for torque i want a torque monster you can accelerate as fast as you want but your not allowed to break the speed limit and as for moding it im not looking for that as of right now ive got over $3000 dollars invested in this motor now and its junk and im deffinately just just looking to get my car back on the road

well something is up in your engine because the 4.6 is a very strong, reliable engine, just get a different 4.6 and stroke it!

romeo vs windsor means nothing.

Sounds like the person who built your motor (or whoever you bought it from) sucks at life.

Yea you spun rod bearings, if u weren't beating it you had a bearibg issue, or an oil issue. Maybe ran it low on oil? Or clearances are ****ed

If you were to do a swap you would be far better off to swap with A 4V Termie motor IMOP. If yer spinning rod bearings readilly than you have some sort of issue and the motor itself is not the problem. I think 15-2000 for a motor swap is an extremely conservative estimate. You couldnt re-build the 4.6 for that much. you may be able to fandangle the motor itself for 15-2k, but in the end it will likely cost much more. unless you wanted to swap and still have a gutless wonder.
