Fuel/Gas Leak??

It's the fuel filler neck tank gasket or seal. It Sucks @$$ to change. Also check & make sure the fuel tank straps haven't worn through the plastic. I've seen the things rust through, and wear holes in the fuel tank causing leaks. I was chasing that problem with my 92 SHO. Both seam to be a PROBLEM up north from the salty winters.

i had the same problem and it was the gasket. its not that hard to replace.

Did anyone have to drop the tank to get the filler neck out?

i didnt drop it out. I put a jack underneath with a piece of wood and lowed it down to wear i could get it out.
