Redline hood lifts

Best to ask Redline, that said however unless the FB hood is a complete POS the brackets Redline supplies should spread the load sufficiently to not create any problems...
I have them on my '03 GT (stock hood), one of the best mods I have done--getting rid of the prop rod is worth every one of the 4,999 pennies it cost...

I agree with Cliff one of the best mods I have done. I have a quality Aftermarket hood which is 2 layer hood. Meaning I have the outer layer and a lower lower and they are glued together my bottom piece is nice and smooth like the top.
What I did notice with the Redline struts is that you have to slam the hood to shut it and I did start to see some stress cracks in the middle where the hood latch is. what I did to get rid of the slamming is put in hood pins. Now I just lower the hood nicely and put the pins in.
In other words if you buy a cheaper 1 layer FG hood it will probably break

Wow, I got mine on eBay a couple years ago for $50 shipped--they are the plain ol' Redline black model and still look like new. I did paint the brackets with satin black Rust-Oleum before installation.
The "elite" model is stainless steel, and comes with powder coated brackets--not worth $70 extra to me, but if you live somewhere where they salt the roads it might be...
