Default New motor is rattling..bah

There is a loud rattle coming from the back off the motor or the trans but I can't seem to pinpoint it. It seems to be internal, but I'm not sure. It sounds like the exhaust is rattling but that just doesn't seem to be the case. Any ideas?

Sorry, it wouldn't be the first time a build was done and had instant bearings. My buddy went through 2 engines. I think I had as much in gas going back and forth to his house to help with his car as he did in the first engine, lol.

I have this same nightmare. A rattle/knock is insanely difficult to track on these cars. On mine, it's loudest on the transmission of all places, but I hear it out the top. I have rebuilt the motor and the timing system to no avail. The only thing that I can think of is wrist pins or lifters.

No it doesn't go away. And pushing the clutch in doesn't do anything either

Mine doesn't go away when it's warmed up either. It lessens, but doesn't go away.
