Default 5K what to do...

In early winter or late fall not sure when I plan on dropping 5k on my 02 gt I have only lt's off road pipe and loud mouths so I have a very low restricted setup ready for some fun, I have 3 options in mind all close to the same price in the end but let me know which u guys would prefer or if u have done one of these setups did u like it or would have gone with something different.

1. "stage" 3 heads and cam all motor prob gonna give me 350rwhp but the power will be 24-7, but if i later add a supercharger I would need to do another cam swap since the cam will "absorb" a lot of potential boost.

2. supercharger intercooler setup... prob 370-400 rwhp but limited with stock head and cams and I cant push the motor that much more on stock internals, pro's- 24-7 power, can take parts off later and sell, but I hit a wall with the 450 rwhp mark

3. Sean hyland has some nice 4.6 stroker kits, keep the origianal bore size car only has 30 k and stroke it with all forged internals, yah might give me 320 rwhp with stock heads and cam but I'm set if i wanna add a $700-$1000 nitrous wet kit and be safe runing a 200-250 shot giving me 420-470 rwhp but it wont be 24-7 power, I will gain a lot of torque from stroking it which I'm sure I'll love

4. any suggestions

so yeah if you guys or gals if there are any on here have done any of these let me know i wanna make sure i research everything first before I drop the cash

Thanks for your time and imput

I would invest in a set of LT headers and a good blower. You can make 420-450 to the wheels on the 2V with a good tune. I wouldnt waste that kind of money on just heads and cams. Our 4.6 wont make much more than 350 with a heads and cam swap... so a blower setup is your best bet. The blower and LT headers should run you $3000-$4000 depending on the setup. Then look into a forged rotating assy. for about $700. Then boost it out of the roof.

As my post stated i have the lt's already so i have very low resistance exhaust wise how much power can the stock internals hold boost wise?
also wheres a good place for rotating assemblies forged of course

I wouldnt boost over 9 lbs on my stock motor in the GT. My Cobra see's 18 to 20 lbs of boost every day.

I would try and get a blower and forged internals and if you cant get that for 5k I would try and save up and get it all at once

Do I need the forged crank??? or just cast with forged rods and pistons... the crank alone is over 500

You don't really need a forged anything unless your gonna go over 400 hp. If you go over though your gonna need alot of things. Oh, and my suggestion, kenne bell 1.7 @9 PSI that will get you to your limit.

The stock internals will hold about 450 hp but thats kinda pushing the limits. The stock crank is good. The weak point in the engine is the powder coated rods. Too much boost will bend them and break them and when they break they come out the side of the block. Best thing to do it to get the forged rods and pistons before the blower, this way you will be assured the block is safe and no need for worries.

While you;re at it, get some dished pistons to lower the compression ratio. Loos for some 8.1:1 to 8.5:1 and you will be a happy man after all is installed and you are running 500+ hp.

OK i saw some modmax rods with mahle 23cc dished pistons for sale 849 for the combo pins rings included...
not a bad price I could have a shop just install these for round 1300-1500 in labor... and just use my stock crank...

So why hasn't anyone suggested nitrous? I get a lot of supercharger guys but no one who has the head cam work done or nitrous on some nice forged rods and pistons

Because nitrous is a waste unless your at the strip. It's too expensive to use all the time and nitrous runs out. A supercharger always has power whenever you hit the gas.
