car periodically klunking out
Hey everyone, i have been experiencing some mild car trouble from time to time. The car has a tendency to klunk out sometimes, (happened like 4 times since i've owned it for 5 months) and this past weekend it did it the worst. I was in second gear making a turn from a 15-20mph roll and when i gave it gas as i was making the turn it acted like it didn't want to go, like it wasn't getting enough gas or or something but when i left off the gas pedal and then put my foot back on it, the car was fine. No check engine light came on either of the times this has occured, so if anyone knows whats going??!!

An intermittent problem is going to be hard to find. How old is the fuel filter? If you aren't sure it probably needs replaced. How much gas was in the tank? You could have uncovered the pick-up for the fuel pump and the fuel pressure dropped. There could be a dead spot in the TPS,but this would show up more often.Take the car to Advance or Autozone, they will run a code scan for free and see what codes have been set.

the fuel filter is less than 5,000 miles old and i am purty sure there was at least half a tank of gas in it. A buddy of mine has a 2000 gt and has expirienced the same problem, with no resolve. I will try Advance and see if they can come up with anything

Could be a number of things. Could be a bad O2 sensor, could be the fuel pump, could be a bad injector, could be a bad fuel filter, could be bad gas, could be a bad IAC, could be a miscalibrated MAF, etc. You just have to wait for a light and see what the deal is.
