Default gears

i'm cosidering getting 4:10 gears. my question is are they going to affect my speedometer, i mean am i going to be doing 30mph and actually be going a different speed?

It is just a tool to recal. the speedo and involves no upgrading the computer performance wise. They are sold at www.dallasmustang.com

In this case take 4.10/3.27 X actual speed, in other words if you are actually going 30 mph your uncorrected speedometer will be showing 38 mph with 4.10 gears. If you are actually going 60 mph your speedometer will read 75 mph,and if you are actually going 80 mph (my preferred cruising speed) your speedometer will read 100 mph.

It's not particularly hard, but it requires several tools that not everyone has to set the gears up properly. I have done it but it's worth it in my opinion to have a competent installer do the job.

I went to a highly recommended (deservedly so) speed shop. I posted on some sites and asked for recommendations in my local area.
