To all that think this subject is BS fine. Its a free forum and your entitled to your opinion. I however was not asking for that. I was interested in the year of your car what mods you have and how that relates to your MPG.
My personal philosophy on mods is what I stated in this thread. I want mods that help boost HP/TQ at the same time as helping or at least not hurting MPG.
For example I just learned I am getting better MPG with my new Iridium NGK's. I am sure the burn is better AND thus ignition should be at the correct crank point (TDC?) which should give you BETTER HP/TQ at the same time as MPG. This is the point optimal set up and efficeincy!

I am thinking of starting another thread regarding Detonation, Advance, Octane, Compression, MPG and Fuel burn efficiency and what tuning points everyone is using but that might be better suited to the more generic performance catagory in the forum.

Cheers

Well I just now had the worst MPG tank since I've owned the car. I've owned it since 6/04 (20,000+ miles).

I let the wife drive it to work two days stop and go, A/C blasting, questionable throttle managment. Also, I was torturing the car bad. Showing off and really driving it very hard. Here are the results:

252.2 miles, 11.535 gallons = 21.86 MPG. That's the worst one ever and that's driving like !@#$ with 4.10 gears in the city and the A/C blasting.

So, my MPG varies between hi 21 and low 28. Highway I expect 26. City I expect 22. That is with the 4.10's and some throttle excersing.

You'll never hear anybody with good MPG scolding somebody with bad MPG. Only folks with bad MPG ******* folks with good MPG and calling them liars. If you get bad MPG, I think that's great. I'm a little jealous that I am too cheap (and old, and married, and fatherly) to use my GT as it was intended. I envy you for having the nads to peel out all the time and stay in the throttle. What fun. But you won't catch me calling you a liar or badmouthing you.

Have a nice day.

I wouldn't say you're a liar, but it's one of those things I'd have to see to believe, and I haven't seen it. Why do you have 4.10 gears and drive like a grandma? It's like you got gears and then try hard to drive them like they are stock gears. Just axing, not trying to be an ***. I think you should be in the guiness book of world records for mpg in a mustang, jizzhead.

I am going to watch my mpg for the next coupleof weeks. I always reset my trip meter everytime I fill up and I usually only get around 200 miles on a tank (mods are listed below). That is mostly city driveing with a/c on and getting ont it every now and then, and not really hammering on it either. This last fill up said that I got 17.5 mpg for this tank. I have a auto and I know that will make a big difference as far as mpg, so what are the other guys with auto's getting?

diver, 16-18 mpg, depending on traffic light frequency. I drive 8 miles to work on surface streets and 2 miles on the freeway. the 2 miles on the freeway probably hurt more than they help my mpg, since half of it is spent accelerating through slow work trucks and honders.

OK so we are getting around the same, and I too only drive about 10 miles to work but I so no highway driveing. Anyone else that has a auto? OH and by the way, just like everyone stated I purchased my car to drive and don't really care what I get as far as mpg because I have fun driveing my car. And I know that when I put my 4.10's in my mpg will drop.
