emergency brake

The E-brake should be released in the car so be sure to use wheel chocks.
IIRC you have to remove the caliper first, take off the brake line, then you should have enough slack to take the E-brake cable off. The cable is seated in the caliper with a nub on a J shaped arm. You have to push (or pull, can't remember) that arm to give the cable enough slack to push the nub out of it.
Whatever you do, do NOT revmove that spring that's on the caliper. If you do, it's a real PITA to get back on.
