Default Exhaust fitment help

I have an '02 GT and am looking at an O/R h pipe. BBK has an O/R H pipe for 96-98 4.6 but shows only a midpipe for longtubes for the 99-04. Will the 96-98 H pipe fit my '02? thanks!

I'm also not 100% sure but I've heard the exact opposite, especially for mid pipes. That basically the mid pipes are generic through all 4.6 years, 2v or 4v.

ive always been told exhaust is interchangable 96-04 catback AND midpipe. BUT the exhaust hangers are in different spots for the catback (and midpipe doesnt even have any for the 99-04, but i think it does on the 96-98).

should work just fine, but you may need to grind off the exhaust hangers on the midpipe for it to slide onto your car. and the catback needs to have the hangers re-welded to a slightly different spot. but other than that they are all the exact same.

Why take a chance? Why not buy an h pipe designed directly for your year? I believe MAC makes a o/r h pipe for the 99-04. There are a few others as well.
