Default Tire Recommendations

OK Guys and Gals, I usually post mainly in the classic forum, but I have a question regarding tires on my '02 GT daily driver so I figured I'd ask it here.

I am shopping for new tires. I have not been real happy with the Goodyear eagles, especially in the rain. As I said this is my daily driver so I need an all-season performance tire. Here in south central PA we get some snow in the winter but it usually isn't too terrible, but I want a tire that has some sort of wet/snow traction rating unlike the Goodyear Eagles. If the snow gets real bad I can just call in to work and say I'm not going to be in.

So What are you running? or What do you recommend?

im running Nitto 555's up front and Nittos 555r's on the back. there traction in the rain isnt that great at all but i dont drive like a jackass in the rain so i dont slide unless i try to. the Nitto 555r drag radial hooks up pretty nice for the amount of life they put out 15k miles.

One of the best tires tested for all around use at www.tirerack.com is the Pirelli:

As a matter of fact, this is now the stock tire used by Ford on its new 2005 Mustang GT. No more Gatortrashes. Dry, summer weather was all the Goodyear tires were good for.

I ran the Goodyears for 5 years when my car was a daily driver. Do you think the Nitto's are a better all season tire than the Goodyears? I can't see that at all.

One of the best is the Pirelli all season tires. I do not have them on my mustang but I have them on the spec v. I now a couple of guys that have them on the STI too. The will give you great traction in the snow. As long as you don't put on s/c

Go and check out the BFG KDW or the KDWS. I have the KDW and they are a great tire when it is dry and in the rain. I know that the KDWS are the all season tire, plus the price is not too bad, I paid $155 for the rear (285/40/17) and $135 for the front (245/45/17) from tire rack. Hope this helps you out, I love the KDW's that I put on my car to replace the gatortrash that was on there.

How do the BFG's wear? I'm also looking for new tires, but want to get some life out of them. Don't mean to hijack Jes.
