I have an 03 GT and for some reason it doesnt run as strong as it used to I brang it 2 ford and they said everything was fine and for some reason my rmp's rev so much freer all I did was remove the air silencer....but like I said it revs really free now and it seems like it lost its punch...whats wrong with my baby!?!....thanks</P>

You may have lost torque when you removed it. That would change the sound and make it not have that "punch", but if you try the "punch" on the interstate drop it in second going 40 you will feel the "punch".

Removing your air silencer won't make you lose torque, that's absolutely ridiculous. You should take a look at your ignition system, suggest this to your dealer. You should also try your fuel filter..if that doesn't do anything and your car is feeling sluggish, you may have some drivetrain problems, especially if it revs fine in neutral.</P>
I know that my 02 GT is VERY sensitive to temperature change and humidity levels. I get extremely poor gas mileage and less performance on really muggy days. I see your from NJ so I can't imagine that being the case, how long has this been going on for?</P>

this has been happening for like a month or 2 its lost its punch b4 I removed the air silencer but sense I've removed it it just revs really free but the punch still isnt there...</P>
how would the ignition system and fuelfilter affect it?? and what r drivetrain problems??...sorry for these questions but I dont kno as much as I would like2 ....thanks man<IMG src=smileys/smiley1.gif border="0"></P>

Under load something could be failing. Drivetrain problems would be, engine/tranny/rear end problems. If it's revving up fine in neutral but is a slouch on the road...do you have a 5 speed or auto?</P>

its an manual...its so stupid the guys r ford r so F***** up as it is they sometimes dont kno what the heck there doin cuz I've brang my car back for other reasons and I ended up bringin it back 3 times until they finally found out what was wrong with it...but not for this problem....and I'm really considering in trading it in for an 04 Mach 1 or Cobra cuz I hate the idea that somethings wrong with my car...

My bad I mistakened the silencer for a part of the exhaust not intake. SO SUE ME!...well actually don't sue me. Maybe you got a lemon buddy'ol pall.
