Slicks 26" or 28"

Slicks 26" or 28"
So, I'm looking to get some slicks or ET streets and put them on some v6 wheels for track use only. However I was wondering, Since I have 315/35/17 Nitto DRs now and max out 4th gear at around 110-111 mph (4.10s). Should I step up to a 28" tire or will 26" be fine??
The rest of my mods are in my sig. I don't want to have to little of tire and run out of gear but I also want good hard launches.

First what's your time in the 1/8th? Are you running out of gear at the end of the track? I was talking to a buddy with a camaro about this a week or so ago. What he told me is that you have to remember that a bias ply tire is going to grow a bit with speed. That 26 might be a 27 by the traps. He was also saying that going with a tire as large as a 28 may cause the car to bog off the line. You have more tire, and you've reduced your gear. If you don't have the power, you could loose time this way, and being that he's running 11.40s NA, I know he's got power. He says he's launching on the limiter as it is with the 26's.

NO you will NOT be fine with a 26'' slick with 10 psi and 4.10's take it from me i ran out of gear well before the trap. with 26'' tire. i went to a 28'' tall tire and i was right at redline going throgh the trap. now i am dropping the gear to a 3.73 becuase i went to the track after the meth kit and i am maxed out going through the trap.

BTW, what meth kit are you running? I've been thinking of going with meth. I have an I/C sitting in my closet but I was thinking it would be easier to go with the meth right now.

yeah id say if you were n/a ud be fine. But the meth worked out very nice picked up 30 rwhp but with a 3.33 pulley i would have picked up a total of 60rhwp but my fuel was maxed out. but i did pick up 6 mph and 5 tenths off my 1/4 mile! if you get the kit get it from here http://www.alkycontrol.com it is one of the better kits out there.
