well it appears to be a transmission problem since when rolling in neutral the noise goes away. if it was the rear end then the noise would be apparent while rolling regardless of what gear your in. my t-45 makes gear whining noises in third and fourth but my transmission has been abused its whole life, i expect it to die soon. i find it strange that it happens to you in any gear

Well, I expect my transmission will die soon too... even though it is only at 62,000 miles. Whenever I put the car in 2nd gear once the car first starts up, the first shift feels like I am jamming a metal rod through stone. How much fluid if appropriate for the t45?

how much fluid is appropriate? well i run atf and the amount to be used: 3-4 quarts i think. what i do is drain the fluid and then refill it. once the fluid starts coming out of the fill hole i thread the plug back in

I would agree with everyone else, if the noise happens on tip-in it sounds like a ring and pinion noise to me. pretty common with aftermarket gears. try this drive the car in 5th gear. turn your head looking to the right so your right ear is pointed towards the back seat. you should be able to hear the noise better. press and let off the accelerator. if the noise comes and goes as you press the pedal I would almost bet its a rear end noise.
