The Tremec Manual I have for the 3650 shows Mobile 1 synthetic. I switched mine out about a month ago and it shifts like butter. Mine didnt have Mobile 1 from Ford. It only had 14K on the odometer and shifted like poo. Much better now. Has anyone run Mobile 1 for an extended period of time?

Ive heard royal purple is good (but expensive) and synthetics are not. It eats away at the internals. So either royal purple or a syncromesh brand or mercron base oil should be good

Get one of Cobra Bob's gaskets and it will make life nicer than cleaning off the gook each time you yank the shifter...

The warning about not using synthetic ATF is left over from the Borg-Warner T-5 and early Tremec T-45, and may perhaps be so--however I have never seen any solidly documented reports proving it.

Tremec recommends Mobil 1 for the 3650.

From the 3650 rebuild manual:

RP Synchromax is a synthetic, I have been running it for over 60k miles (changed it at 50k) with no problems...

RP states clearly on their site that:
Synchromax is fully compatible with all types of friction materials. It provides excellent corrosion and oxidation protection without affecting the soft metals commonly found in manual transmission synchronizers.
