Default stock block capability

What is the max hp/trq that a stock block can handle, if u used all forged... when will the block itself become your limiting factor
I believe i read somewhere around 600hp on a standard bore

4.6 iron block with the most beefy forged internals can take upwards of 1000 hp.

that's what i've read, don't know anyone who's up that high.

Hes talking about the stock block with forged internals. It's probally somwhere around 400-450 hp before you destroy it.

That's right. Over a grand. More than any of us could ever throw at it.

well, about 450 rwhp is the most you could expect the stock engine (stock block, stock internals) to take. 450 rwhp translates to ~530 crank hp, so 500 crank hp is certainly realistic.

the block will be fine, its the connecting rods followed by the pistons that can't take the abuse above those levels.

swap in some better stuff and i think you could get to 1000hp. at which point the whole thing is pretty much a time bomb, but that's normal for supreme power levels.

I would hazard a guess and say that the stock block can make about 550 RWHP before you need to start thinking about a aftermarket one. I think you could get a bit more out of her, but this is safely of course.
