Rear defroster doesnt work
On my 2000 Mustang GT my rear window defrost does not work. The button lights up but does not defrost the window. Also I put a multimeter up to the wires in the window and there is no voltage. If anyone can help i would really appreciate it. thanks

I was gonna suggest a multi-meter, but you have already done this. In some cases, the light that you see on the button is from a secondary power supply and could still be a fuse issue.
I can honestly say, in the 3+ years I have owned my car, I have never used the rear defroster and don't even know where the switch is located

Fuses are good
I checked all my fuses under my hood and under the driver's side dash. All the fuses are fine. My next attempt when there is some daylight and I got time is Ill check the button to see if anythings wrong.

when you say that you put the multi meter up to the wires in the window did you try doing that with a different ground as well, its a stupid question but i just want to check, because if there is a break in the element and you only connected the multi meter the the wires going to and from the window they would read no voltage even if there is a good feed! so if you did it this way then do it again but this time find a good ground then test both wires off that and see what happens.
if none of this works or applies and all the fuses are good then your going to need to remove the switch and test the back of it, if you have a good switch feed and no voltage at the window then the wiring is damaged!
good luck

Check to make sure both soldered contacts are still attached to the rear window. Next, remove both wires (driver and passenger) then use your multi meter to ohm out the element on the back window. It should be somewhere under ~5 ohms I believe.
