Default Humming noise while driving

I have a 2003 GT convertible. i noticed that when i hit 4th and 5th gear i hear a humming sound. It seems to disappear when i let go of the gas or am idling. does anyone know what this may be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure what the whine sounds like, but it's a possibility that it could be gear whine, due to an improper install.

its more of a low hum. when i let go of the gas it goes away and when i depress the gas pedal it starts again. and this happens on 4th n 5th.

You must be happy. I'd just stop humming while you're in the car.

maybe the 4th and 5th gears in the tranny are wearing irregularly. either that or its bearing in the transmission. could be alot of things involving drive train. but not a prob unless ur experiencing driving issues associated with with the noise
