Yes they "wear" out but at this point if you aren't throwing more power at it then there is no need to replace it. Is it making noise?

Nah, no whining,grinding, etc.....A little leak coming from the pinion seal...that's it....

To answer the original question: As soon as you buy the car so you can get rid of the 3.27s that are in there and put in something more fun.
