Default RPM limitations of stock 2v

I have decided to get the Hitech stage 2 cams. The rep from hitech told me that they have seen the best results from cars that shift at 6300. I want to know the RPM limitations of the 2v bottom end.

I have seen 2 sides to this argument but want a definite answer.

Some people claim that the GT bottom end is the same thing used for the mach1, 01,99 cobras so you CAN rev the **** out of it but there is no need to with the factory pi cams so it was limited back to 6k or w/e its at.

Anyone know?

I think you would need a mach 1 crank pulley but thats it.

Of course you know it's not technically the crank that's the problem, it's the uneven and poor ballancing characteristics of the stock spec internals and an "Average" duty harmonic balancer. If you're going to spin it To/Past 6300 you better make sure you have a great balancer just hope the car gods are in your favor. I know a few people with cast cranks to 7200rpm with better balanced internals.

Also.. iv read a little about ppl having pressed on cam gears.. how do you know if you have them or not? when you do the cam install, (i plan to do it myself) can you bolt them on to the new cams? or am I thinking of something completely different?

youll need upgraded springs and retainers. ive seen people rev to 7000rpm with the stock crank and pulley. not saying i would recommend it.
