Default speedo correction

So after doing gears and changing tires, my speedo is of by more then i want. Seeing that i have a 96 a tuner can't correct this problem. I know that i have to change the drive gear in the dial, but i haven't been able to find info on how to. Is i just becuase it is just that simple or what? Also, how many drive gear teeth are there. I'd like to only have to pull this apart once. thanks

This should be a speedo gear in the transmission and easily replaced. Just pull the cable where it connects to the transmission and swap it out.

Find out how much you are out of calibration and head over to Ford. I am not sure how much correction you can get, but I had no issue getting one to correct my 5 MPH differential when I replaced my tires/wheels many a year ago.

Not in the T-5 I was running in my 5.0. I am sure your car is the same. You can ask Ford to be sure, but what trans are you running?

I bought a tuner but that's because I couldn't find a speed calibrator like Lizzy found.

want it done the right way? it's gonna cost you $100. any other way will not be as correct and you'll wind up getting the speedcal later anyway.
