Default Newbie Nitro Question

Ive seen alot of different opinions on installing nitro, i get worried about the wear and tear it can put on my motor, but my newbie question is the nitro really only can affect the engine or even have a possiblity of harming ur car if it is ARMED, is that right?

Default RE: Newbie Nitro Question

First it is called Nitrous, not nitro (that would be short for nitromethane). But yes the only time a nitrous system can be activated is if it armed and then triggered.

Default RE: Newbie Nitro Question

long story short, (for the actual long story, feel free to look up nitrous threads, or just go to howstuffworks.com) nitrous oxide is very harmful to your motor

if you're stupid.

this isn't to say that plenty of smart people haven't blown their motors up with it (not literally BLOWN UP, but you get the point) because there are plenty of us out there who know the safe parameters to work within with any form of forced induction... but push it a little further. sometimes bad things happen hehe but if we didn't take any risks, how would we know how fast our cars were?
