Stupid question? PVC valve....Help!!
OK..How in GOD"S name do i get the PVC valve off the valve cover of my 02 mustang gt? The hose running from it to the top of the intake is sucked together when car is running. This can't be normal..CAn it cause idle problems?

The PCV* (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) valve has a 1/4 turn camlock thread--you need to turn it 1/4 turn anti-clockwise to remove it...

Speaking of PCV valves and not to Hijack the thread but...
I've been looking ALL over for a replacement PCV valve for my car and checked different Ford dealerships locally.
Basically long story short, no one at Ford around here knows what they are talking about. Some have kept ordering me the wrong PCV valve, some have told me the one in my car now is definitely not a factory PCV valve (but it is) and some just have no idea
Anyone know where I can just buy one online???
Thanks,
Brandon

Pull it off and clean it with some cleaner. If it rattles when you shake it back and forth, it should be good. Sounds like it is stuck in the closed position hence the hose is collapsing. The hose may be bad from old age too. If you can blow thru it one way it is likely good. The other way most of the air flow will be blocked. Good Luck!

The PCV isnt the cause, the hose is just old and collapsed. soon the vacuum will suck a hole in it. then you will have a vacuum leak and the CEL will come on. Go to a dealer and buy a PCV hose, it should only cost around $20. The valve should be ok. Strider, try rockauto.com they may have the correct valve for you.

Thanks guys for all the input...I didn't want to break anything trying to get the pcv valve off. This site is so handy...I guess a stupid question is a question not asked or when you ask it wrong (PVC)...But you guys knew what i meant anyway....Thanks again....BTW..Nothing wrong with PCV..It was the hose....
