Default Help with IAC valve...

Hey guys, I have a 97' GT with a bullitt intake manifold; when I did the intake swap I use all the parts required but the IAC valve. Recently I had the code P0320 showing on my scanner, after some tests I concluded it must be the IAC valve that went bad. Now my question is: should I get the IAC valve for a 97' GT or an 01' bullitt? I was having some problems with hanging RPMs when idling, so don't know if this would fix it. Thanks in advance.

It doesn't matter which one you get.

Change your IAC since you have the cel. If you still have a hanging idle, it's going to be caused more from your decay rate being screwy because of the new Tb and probably compounded by a better flowing exhaust.

I don't think is the t/b, or the exhaust, I have Hooker long tube headers, 2.5' off-road X pipe and flowmasters. The reason I was asking which IAC valve to use is because you have to specify the year and model when buying it, I was thinking to get it at 50resto.com, but if you know a cheaper place let me know.

The IAC for the Bullitt is just a little smaller for clearance sake. If you want to go for the smaller one do that. It's still meters at the same voltage and have the same connections. The gasket is even the same. My point was that it doesn't matter in tuning so it's not going to affect your idle and hang time.

Since you have a code, it's just faulty so you'll need to replace it but if you still have hanging idle it will be taken care of with a tune.

Tb size and how it meters the air with better flowing exhaust can affect your Decay and idle so if you haven't had the car tuned since installing the intake, look into it.

The bullit specific from AutoHoe is $150 where as the standard GT IAC is $53

Hey thanks dude, that's a pretty good price. By the way my car is already tunned. I blew the engine with only 10 psi; since the only new things added were low compression pistons and PI stock cams I was thinking about leaving the car with the previous tune and then retune it. I also had the hanging RPMs since the original tune, the tunner couldn't find the reason of the hanging RPMs nor get rid of it. The guy that tune my car was pretty good or so I heard, his name is Justin from VMPTUNNING.
