you need a new belt. when you put the pulleys on, run a string through the path the belt would take and measure it. then go to autozone and ge tthat belt

You do not need a new belt unless your old one is worn, or if you are only installing one pully (i.e. crank pully) If you are installing (3) pullys you do not need a new one. If that is the case go to a parts store and get yourself a GoodYear Gator back in the stock size!!

You can use your stock belt, but if your car has 15k or more on it it'll be a good excuse to get a new belt.

The size difference from the crank pulley is made up with the water pump and alternator, so there is no belt size change.

Why do people think this is true? Do you have to get a different size belt when you did your udp's?

When I put on my Steeda UDP's I DID NEED A NEW BELT. The old one would not fit at all. Went to autozone and did the trial and error thing. Even though the OEM one only had like 10k on it at that point.

Dan02GT is right. If over 15,000 to 20,000+ miles already on your existing belt, then buy a new Ford serpentine belt....SAME SIZE, stock. The overall belt travel on the underdrive pulley's is the same as stock.

Demonite23, if the BBKs are piggyback style, put locktite on the bolts that hold the stock dampener to the aluminum pulley. I just replaced my piggies with Steeda one piece and all three bolts were backing out after 1000 miles or less.
