need a quick answer
i have 97 gt with a 03 engine with full bolt ons and 4.10 rear im thinking about getting a tune today do yall think its worth the money and if i did whats gains could get out of it
A tune will definantly be worth it. With full bolt ons, and a custom dyno tune, i'm at 270 rwhp, so you should be in that neighborhood as well.
the guy said it would be 700 dollars to do that i think thats alot to do that
$700 just for a dyno tune?
thats what i said he said i would need a tuner wich is 300 and somthing and 2 hours of tuning at 150 a hour
That's too high. You could get a custom built tune (on a dyno) for under $500, or just get a hand held tuner for around $400.
IMO, if you plan on modding the car a lot more, just go the hand held tuner route for now. That way it won't cost you everytime you do a mod. |
My buddy got his car tuned when he didn't have a tuner and it cost him around $600. It sounds like a lot but the price of the tuner is what makes it seem bad.
would i be better off getting a hand held then a dyno tune later the only thing i dont know do i get a tuner for a 97 or 03 since i have a 03 engine in a 97
I think my Predator is good for all Mustangs '96-04, SCT is probably the same. I don't know a lot about engine swaps, but I'm assuming you also had to carry over the ecu from the '03, so just get a tuner that is compatible with that.
right now i have a 97 ecu
