Default Need help with Kenne Bell supercharger

I have an 03' GT (Saleen) mustang. Bought a 2.1 Kenne Bell supercharger, installed it myself, and it runs great except for a little pinging at high RPM. I have a BBK cold air intake. Kenne Bell says (after all of the trouble shooting we have done) that it is producing 10-10.5 lbs. of boost because of the BBK intake as compared to the stock intake (in which the chip was originally programmed for) The chip is programmed for 9 lbs of boost. The temp here has been much colder and the air is dense at this time of the season. Somebody please give me some answers rather than going back to stock air intake and or going to larger pulley..... Need help in Tennessee....

Get a tune or tuning software and tune it, don't rely on canned tunes... If you have an adustable fpr then bump it up a few psi and see if it stops, it may be leaning out. Or it may have too much timing if not leaning out.

The KB tune is fine and you should run safely... but did you get the air intake after you installed the blower? If so, the only solution is a tune.. you don't want to chance running too lean or rich if you think there may be an issue.

Kenne Bell is sending an 1/8" bigger pulley. They think I am pushing more than the 9psi of boost with the intake set up I have. They think this will lower the boost back down to where it should be....What do you think?

Well install the pulley, take it to the dyno and dyno it with a A:F meter. I would say what is happening is that the canned tune would normally be fine. I think the problem lies in this cold *** weather. More than likely you are running lean do to the dense air.

Do you not have a boost gauge? A:F meter in you car? If not i would invest in one. Especially the A:F meter. Make sure you get a wide band!!!

Thanks for your input. I received the pulley yesterday and will install tomorrow. What affordable gauges are good? I have plans on buying a Boost and A/F gauges very soon..Do you think that I could have been at 10psi with the cold dense air and the BBK Cold Air intake?

^^ not sure. Thats why you need to put it on the dyno with a A:F meter.
Should be somewhere in the ball park of $100-$140 for 3 pulls and a A:F meter(the dyno shop will have one they will use on your car)

As far as you buying one to put in you car, i perfer autometer. Just make sure its a wide band. If you get a narrow band, you will have wasted your money because it wont do you any good.

If purchasing a wide band, I would only get the AFX. To take it one step better, buy the replacement NTK sensor. This is much better then the Bosch LSU4.

Thanks for your help... What brand is the best choice for the money. Speaking of lean I am running a little lean myself on money. This has costed me more than I originally had intended...
