4.6 and procharger ?s
ok i have 99 cobra with procharger running 9 pounds of boost few people have told me i need to pull motor and install fordged pistons and rods boght car this way so do not know about internals any way my ? is a 5.4 the same block as 4.6 if so can i put dohc on 5.4 motor off of my 4.6 or do i need to just build up 4.6 i got im new to the 4.6 all i ever had was 5.0 so i need some help thanks guys

You motor is fine the way it is. Unless you intend to increase the boost and go to higher horsepower levels you do not need to run forged rods and pistons. If you take proper car of the motor it should last you a very long time.
The 5.4 is not the same block as the 4.6. It is a taller block. The heads are interchangeable but not the intake and exhaust.

At 9lbs you should be fine considering you are probably around the 400rwhp mark.
If you do plan to go over 430rwhp I would look into forging the internals due to the weak rods. You won't have to worry about replacing your crank though when/if you build the motor.
The most these motors can handle boost-wise is about 14lbs: for future reference.
I'm at 13lbs (with barely any timing) and its running fine but if you can swing it forged helps a lot with piece of mind.
