Default Lowering Springs Question

I was wondering if a 1-2 inch drop would significantly change the geometry of the car. I know you would have to get an alignment job, but would you have to upgrade other parts of the suspension. Other parts might get worn out quicker? break easier? I was thinking about doing it until talking to a few buddys of mine, they said its bad idea. One, Because you'll look like an ******* when you get hung up over speed bumps, and steep hills. Two, It changes the Dynamics of the car witch isn't good for it. I figured I would get some of your guys opinions before I dig deeper into this subject.

I did it to my 03 a couple of years ago when i put headers on it. I bought some from steeda. I took the rubbers off to drop mine even more. I havent had any problems with mine, however on some speed bumps i do drag the x-pipe. But Ive been under the car and it doesnt hurt it. If you get stuck on a hill, 9 out of 10 times a vette or another sports car like that would get stuck too.

I've had the Eibach Pro-Kit on for 3 years now (about a 1.5" drop) with stock suspension, and no issues.
