3.90 Gears...
Does anyone out there have the 3.90 gears on the 4.6? I've read a bunch of threads about the 3.73's and the 4.10's, but I havent heard anything about the 3.90's. If anyone has them PLEASE post. I am seriously thinking of getting them for my car. I'm not sure I need 4.10's as I dont take my car to the track. I don't think that 3.73's will give me enough punch as I have 3.27's stock. Also if anyone has stumbled across a website that sells 3.90's, please post it. Let me hear what you pros think!!!!!!! Thanks

3.90 Gears...
Motive and Pro 5.0 both make 3.90s. I have heard from mechanics that if you aren't going with FRPP gears motive are their next choice because they personally have used them before. I have also have read a lot of reviews and talked to a lot of people with the Pro 5.0s and I have heard all good things about these as well. Look at reviews and talk to people who have either of these brands on their car (i.e. Pro 5.0gears, short shifter, etc.) and see what they think of the companies. As soon as my car is out of warranty I plan on getting the pro 5.0s.

3.90 Gears...
my brother did 3.73's and it woke his automobile right friggin up. it is definately noticable cause i rode with him before and after. but i really doubt 3.90's will savea whole lotmore gas than 4.10's and i say just go all out or dont go. or get 3.73's cause there is a difference.

3.90 Gears...
I just ordered some 3.90's from partshopper.com made by pro 5.0. I am having them installed this weekend in my 2002 GT automatic, I will let you know how they feel once I get them in and ran for a while.

As far as gas mileage is concerned, you probably, depending on how much you get on it, will see better gas mileage in the city but a little less on the highway. Whenever you accelerate from a light, it takes less gas to get moving because the steeper gear ratio lets you get in your typical driving rpms quicker. At highway speeds, most with 4.10 ratios will tell you at 75mph the rpms in 5th gear are only 200 higher than with stock gears.
