Default 98 GT Exhaust Compatibility

hows it going guys, i got 98 GT 5 speed i just bought it will be my 4th mustang ive owned. I just wanted some help cause i need a new exhaust from the headers back and was wondering if a 96 Gt exhaust from the cats back would fit my 98? if not which years would? mostly want to know if the cat pipping will hook up to my headers without any problems? if i could get some answers id be thankful..

most exhaust parts from 96-04 will interchange. The hangers are different on the catbacks from 96-98 to 99-04 but that's about it.

Ok thanks dude wat if It's off a 02 gt? You think I hVe to worry about anything? I bought another stang but never realized the dude took off the cats and did straight pipe so now I have to find cat pipe to pass inspection .

You could buy replacement direct fit or universal cats (OEM or aftermarket) and have an exhaust shop weld it up into place. It might be cheaper then buying, shipping & installing a complete used exhaust. Good luck...

I personally would just buy a new mid pip and cat back unless you can find a quality piece local.
