I guess I wasn't thinking incorrectly. Those bars basically tie the bar into the frame which is good.

yea youre thinking of a 10pt...i wouldnt drive a 10pt on the street either, too much to risk especially if you have a passenger



as for chassis stiffening... my car will have FLSFCs, 8pt cage, battle boxes, and eventually i may have someone build a strut tower brace for it

I am just running a 6 point with removable door bars and MM FLSFC's. I plan on some other items eventually but still working on stuff.

i wish i could use swing out bars...but NHRA doesnt like that \\

is it allowed for autox? thats what you do isnt it?

what about shock tower braces? thats something the OP could also look into...ive never personally known anyone who used one though...whatre your thoughts on that jmac?

Shock tower brace in the rear?

I would install one if you are not worried about trunk space and putting the rear seats down for cargo room. I don't know much about them though.

If you are talking about the strut tower brace up front, I have heard both arguments. Some people say that they notice them and some people say that they are ineffective and provide no stiffening because of the chassis design.

Ya, I don't know much about the rear. I haven't seen too many people running them.

That being said, I will eventually install one. I don't know how soon I will though. There are other priorities.
