Default Amount of boost???

Im sure this question has been asked but im new to the forum and couldent find anything so here it goes.

I own a 1996 GT with 110,000 miles that i just supercharged with a Paxton Novi 2000. Paxton says that the supercharger is fine for my car, it produced 10lbs of boost during the dyno tune, but the tuner said that they recomend not going above 8 PSI.

my question is can i run 10 PSI without grenading my engine?

Do what your tuner advises you to do

+1. Don't recommend 10 psi either.

thanks for the inputs guys i just find myself not knowing who to trust sometimes the company who says it will work or the tuner who tuned my car.. but the tuner has probably got more experience i suppose.

You will be fine.

They say the stock rods and pistons will be fine until around 200k miles on our cars. Psi wise I think you'd be fine just make sure your tuner takes it slow and does a lot of dyno pulls so he doesn't jump up 30 hp on each run if you know what i mean

+1 do what your tuner advises. He's the one who has the car on the dyno, so he should know what's exceptable and what isn't.

What kind of power did it make on 10psi? It's not really the boost that kills stuff it's the power and stress. Npi guys run 12 psi intercooled with no problems, because they're not making around 430-450hp.

it made 300rwhp and 353ftlb at 5100 rpms with 8.6lbs of boost the tuner said it would have made 10lbs in the remaining 900rpms

Mods:
Diablo MAFia
3.73 gears
42lb injectors
255 per hour fuel pump
Paxton novi 2000
BBK off road x-pipe
40 series delta flow flow masters

I'd run it the way it is if the a/f ratio is good and there's no detonation in the higher rpms.
