Default First and Most Obvious Mods for my 01 GT

Thinkin about a Cold Air, but then my mechanic told me I should really consider a new throttle body and air sensor as well. I see Throttle bodies available from Acufab amoung others and they range from 65mm to 80mm. Any suggestions on what size/brand and what whould be a good choice for a complete system? IE: Throttle Body, Cold Air Intake, maybe anew MAF sensor too? Then what else would be some good bolt ons that would wake my new baby up?

Thanks!

what tranny do you have? if a auto i would suggest a tuner or chip to firm up the shifts. and a throttle body and plenum arent that big of a mod. If you dont have exhaust i suggest that

The full 75mm Accufab setup meaning plenum and throttle body is going to run you about 450. and is going to give you around 7hp even though they say 10rwhp. The CAI will give you roughly 2-3 hp. Thats a pretty expensive upgrade for 10hp, if you want just plain get up and go then I would suggest spending 500. and buy some 4.10 or 4.30 ffrp gears and get them put in. Then buy a programmer to fix the shift points and the speedometer.

think about an engine like you would a human

what does it need to live and thrive??

AIR and FUEL

and since it already takes fuel, its needs more breathing power

i would do the exhaust first, bc it can tend to be expensive, and its good to get out of the way

plus you will love the way it sounds and could gain between 20-35 hp

then make it breath on the other end, tb/cai/ect.

I hate to break it to ya but your not going to get no 35hp out a exhaust setup without doing headers.. If you buy headers, x-pipe with high flow cats and a catback exhaust setup then maybe you might hit that.

Do an accufab 70mm kit. 75mm is not nessary on an engine with no poweradders!! Exhaust and a tuner with some pulleys and you'll be set!

Yeah its not necessary but when you do throw poweradders on you will wish you had it.. and its the same price for both..

35 hp for an exhaust is that like the 40hp window stickers ricers use

realistically most mods bolt on wont give that much figure 5 hp for the exhaust the more hp the more adders u have but since its stock get some gears
