Default Conv. Springs

I've already made a post about this, but i was wondering if anyone has Eibach Sport-line springs on a 99-04 GT convertible. I'm DIEING to get these springs, but i dont to get the springs and have my car be not level.

Thanks
Spencer

it's not that your car won't be level, but it will be crazy low. i have an 03 vert and i have the regular pro kit waiting to go on, and i'm hoping that it will be a modest drop. i just need to wait until summertime when i can afford some struts and complete the drop.

But its only a 138-140 lbs. difference between a hardtop and a vert. Any idea where all that extra weight is at?

the convertible top motors, and the extra subframe connectors under the car and the engine to help stiffen the car up to compensate for the lack of a top.

Mods in sig.; I just went out and measured, and have about a hair over 2" gap (both front and rear) between the tires and wheelwell (fender lip, not the liner which is recessed into the well). Pro-Kit should give you about an extra 1/2", per mfr. advertisement. Also note that I'm running stock rims and tires. No problems with these springs in terms of bottoming out, harsh ride, etc. (running stock shocks and struts too). The only thing that sucks is that you have to cross most speed bumps at a 45* to avoid scraping your midpipe, but that's somewhat inherent with lowering your ride. I'm not sure where the extra weight for 'vert's comes from; the stock subframe connectors (which coupes also got I believe) are flimsy pos's that can't have a combined weight of more than 10lbs., top motor is about the same size and weight as a tall can of beer, and there's an x-shaped brace beneath the engine (which I think is unique to convertibles) that's basically a glorified strut tower brace. Just know that if you get these springs you absolutely will need C/C plates (MM comes highly recommended) and bumpsteer kit (shortened tie-rod ends). I also added urethane offset rack bushings when I did mine, but I'm not really sure how necessary they are since I don't see too many people talking about them.
