engine build and heads advise
I want to know if i can buy a forged short block and keep my stock heads for right now. I have a d1sc supercharger so i didnt know if the heads would hold up if they were stock. Please let me know. I am looking to raise the psi on the supercharger but wanted to wait until i had more money for the heads.

As you know from common sense now would be the easiest time to do the heads while everything is apart.
I have a forged bottom end with stock heads but only at 10 psi and all is fine. I don't know what I can go to before the heads are too much of a restriction either.

Do it with the stock heads but by all means get piston notches done NOW that way you don't have to handicap the cam specs. John Tymensky at Modular Performance is who is doing my rotating assembly, he know more on how to get the little details in the shortblock that work than anyone else.

i got stock heads with my MMR block. I have 12.5 psi and upgraded to CMS 2.5 blower cams, beehive springs and retainers and works very well.
I highly recommend MMR 7q oil pan and a cobra high flow oil pump. MMR oil pan actually holds 9 quarts of oil and keeps motor temps low and oil flowing.
