You definitely sound like a total newbie (no offense...i'm just saying) so feel free to use the search button on here to further help you learn, and answer your questions.
+1 op hes not ripping on you but your asking the questions like there some rare collectable items when flowmaster is like the most sterotypical mustang exhaust. As for the suggestion for the mod i would go with gears. Pretty much everyone is going to tell you thats the best bang for your buck. Also you might wanna just take a peek at some posts and learn more info on your car.

In general, you can really wake up any car with a CAI, exhaust, and gears.

The exhaust alone could put you over the 600 depending on the brand, and if you do a full system or catback.

A tune is also a good idea even for a stocker.

im gunna say do the gears that should fall in your price range. the two options that i believe you are talking about is the install kit and the trac lock rebuild. dependin on the mileage that your car has you will need one or both of them.

i'd definitely do the install kit, it should come with new bearings and everything. it's a good idea to go ahead and replace them while the rear end is apart. trac lock rebuild would depend on how many miles your car has and what shape the differential is in, but it's not a bad idea cause if you have to do it down the road, you'll just have to pay a mechanic to take it all apart again.

Mine had 116k when the shop did the install and the guy said i didnt even need any of the new bearings or anything haha. He put the new ones in anyways but he said the oem ones were all in ridiculous good condition. He said he couldnt believe how solid my car was being 12 years old with 116k on the clock. I just passed 118k today and no problems at all besides the tires wearing down... Thats not from milage though haha.

hmmm...thats pretty cool, but as a general rule of thumb you should replace them if you have over 30k.

I bought my 01 GT about 2 1/2 months ago and I am a kind of person who have never worked on cars before. But with the help of all these guyz on forums and some research on my own, I was able to Install below listen mods myself at home. Now I am starting to buy basic tool.

I gotta tell ya mustangs are real easy to work on. This weekend I plan on installing New Professional Products Plenum and Throttle body myself. These forums are great help, just use search button.
