Please excuse my ignorance.

Can you get a (manual) trans for the 99-04 GT with a 0.50 ratio, or close, in the last gear? What would such a monster cost? (Mostly interstate driving)

t-56 will probably have the closest. in all honesty it will be a LOT of driving before the small amount of fuel saved equals the cost of swapping out a tranny.

cheaper alternative if you dont care about performance would be swap in some 2:73 rear end gears.
