Really want to know why it's so loud!
The rear end of my car is extremely loud on deceleration while still in gear, and I don't know why. I don't know what kind of gears are in the diff, but the sound clearly comes from the back... it is like a "choppy whirring sound" that goes away if you press the clutch, get out of gear, go into neutral, as long as you are not in a gear and decelerating, it is silent.
Do you guys have any guesses? By the way, my speedometer reads 5mph FASTER than it is actually going. Speedometer says I am going 60? Nope, I am really going 55 exactly according to GPS.

with the speedo bieng off i'd assume your previous owner installed some new rear end gears. and a bad install job can lead to rear end noises.
jack your car up, put a chalk mark on the bottom of your driveshaft and the bottom of one of your tires (the six o clock positions). turn both wheels at the same time one full rotation and count how many rotations the drive shaft makes. this will tell you your gear ratio (if the drive shaft turns 3 3/4 turns for one turn of the rear wheels, you have 3:73's for instance)
