Default How do I clean IAC and MAF on my car?

Tomorrow I am planning to spend some time with my car. I am planning to takeout IAC, Plenum and Mass Airflow Sensor. I have questions one how to perform cleaning on these parts.

Can I just buy THROTTLE BODY CLEANER and spray on IAC, upper plenum and MAF sensor ? Any help would be great.

Google is your friend. Don't touch your IAC. If it's broke, replace it, it is NOT serviceable.

If the engine is running well there is no need to perform the "maintenance" procedures you propose--which aren't really maintenance activities at all, at least they aren't listed in the shop manual.

The MAF does not need to be cleaned unless it has been contaminated with something as a result of running with a torn or missing air cleaner, of an over-oiled K&N type unit. Beyond that it is a somewhat delicate device, not prone to but certainly subject to mechanical damage.

As to the IAC, and as Sxynerd stated, the shop manuals are quite clear that it "...cannot be cleaned and must be replaced" (quoted from the '03 shop manual).

This leaves the plenum on your list, and unless it is horribly crudded up internally--which would likely indicate a serious blow by or valve problem)--cleaning it will accomplished nothing, even a couple thousandths of an inch of build-up would have no material affect on it's flow capabilities.

Regular maintenance, good oil, copper plugs good serviceable air filter and opening her up once and a while is "about" all a stock car needs.
