Wow, thank you everyone for the quick replies and all the good info. I have always been so meticulous about rotating my tires, but i guess that is all out the window now. For Jazzer, my girlfriends dads NSX had a different type of tire for all four corners of the car. I always thought that was crazy, but i guess it is more common than i would've thought. Thanks again

Whoever owned the convertible before me apparently rotated the tires. I never noticed until I went to get new skins that I had the 275's in front and the 245's in the rear.

On a RWD car the front and rear tires are performing two completely different tasks, both actually related to making the car work--as opposed to WWD (Wrong Wheel Drive) vehicles where the back tires are just holding the back end off the ground and along for the ride.

On a performance RWD vehicle is would be crazy to have the same size tires at each end...

Did I say that?

-edit-
BTW--The new Camaro comes from the factory with 245/45-20s up front, and 275/40-20s in the back...

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying? If you mean putting the "bigs" on the front and "littles" on the back, that that would be quite silly...

However if you mean left to right to left on the same axle, then with uni-directional tires (which most high performance tires are) you need to maintain the proper rotation--so switching left front to right front to left front will mean dismounting and remounting the tires. IMHO much more bother than a few extra miles of treadlife are worth...
