Power feels very restricted after 3k rpm??
Its a 96 gt 5 speed. Around 3 - 3.5 + rpms if feels restricted, like its hesitant almost. I feel a strong pull from 2-3k rpms but 3+ feels restricted....Im thinking spark plugs maybe? I know I need to replace them they're way old...Any other ideas?

like a dyno or performance tune? No. It doesnt have much done to it; x pipe with high flow cats, cat-back, intake, throttle body, plenum...think it might be time for a dyno?

I have not checked fuel filter, might be dirty. How do I go about checking it....I am such a newbie at this. I am pretty sure it needs spark plugs. The car sat for four months before I bought it so I don't know what exactly I need to do with it maintenance wise, I've done an oil change but thats it. I need to pull the intake filter and check it, I am planning on doing the spark plugs soon....anything else ?

i agree with you, the plugs/wires should def be changed. same thing happened in my f150 and it was due to a misfire, according to a diagnostic test. i would still do other routine maintainence as well, as suggested above (fuel filter, air filter, oil, etc.). if after all that your problem isn't fixed, you may have a more serious problem.. clogged cats, injectors, etc. etc.

I had the same issue with my car when I bought it. It sat for 8 months. I had no power after 3k and when it rained, it wouldnt idle right. I opened up my intake box and tube and this is what I found...Picture 047.jpg
A mouse made a nice lil home in there. After taking the junk out, cleaning the maf and tb, and replacing the air filter, it runs like a champ.
May or may not be your problem, but since it sat for 4 months, it might be worth checkin out.
