Default Those with cut springs

Sorry if I posted in the wrong area, but I couldn't find a suspension category.

I received an extra set of front spring, off a 2000 GT, for free last week. I have a 97 GT convertible. I am going to cut the extra set I received, and put them on the 97 to try to lower the front about 3/4".

How much of the spring should I cut? 1/2 a coil?

If it doesn't turn out satisfactory to me, I will put the stock uncut springs back on. I will take to an alignment shop after I get this done (if I am satisfied with driveability and ride).

Thanks for the help!

I never cut springs before so someone feel free to chime in and correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't you have to at least cut one full coil so the pig tails end up sitting in the same spot?

I all can say is i Had INTRAX springs and i cut 1 Coil, Wouldnt go any more. Hope you like a rough ride, Looks good though

Sorry didnt read the whole thing, If i remember right, Yes i just followed the pigtail to the next coil. Made my mark of the pigtail on the below coil, That does make 1 Coil. Hell i would cut half and see if it worked. You can always cut more.

Im sorry bro, now that i think about it i may have cut 1/2, Honestly that was 5 Years ago.....I just can't be certain.....What a wasted post on my part!

I cut one coil off my springs and it lowered it about 1". I would try 3/4 of a coil to get the drop you want. It sould ride fairly good still, mine does.
