Default What is the box under the drivers side dash that says discard if dropped?

I don't have any pics of this box right now but it is a black box under the dash on the right side. I am doing a motor swap and right now when I turn on the key this box starts clicking really quickly. The car wont turnover and I think this is related. The box says discard if dropped more than 30cm. Thanks.

I am not aware of any such box that is OEM, or anything on the right side other than the PCM that is related to engine starting/operation.

Could it maybe be an after alarm vibration sensor/imobiliser???

i dont think ford would equip any car with a part like that. If you cant drop it more than 30 centimeters, it cant be durable enough to withstand daily driving

When I had my PCM out it had a sticker that said discard if dropped, I am guessing it was there from the factory to remind the assembler.

Probably the smart junction box... I just put one in a 2005 V6 Mustang yesterday at work and it says "DISCARD IF DROPPED" on it, and on that Mustang it's in the passenger side kick panel... Just Ford's name for a fuse box by the way. The underhood fuse panel is the battery junction box and the one inside is either the smart junction box or central junction box.
