Default Rear Wheels not locking together?

Hey guys. I'm new to the forums, just joined and have a question about my 2002 GT.

Bought it last year, and have loved it. I'm 17, the girls come around whenever she's with me.

At the young age I'm at, everyone knowws theres a smell of burnt rubber that just gets a teenager going, seeing as I have gone through 3 sets of tires in under 15,000km.

Last year before i put it away, i could sit on the highway, dump the clutch in 1st. and spin right around facing the other way with no problems at alll. If i wanted to keep going in donoughts i could do it till the tires popped.
I brought it out this year and have noticed that, when I dump the clutch and turn. one wheel will grip, and one will spin. Always the inside tire? Like a limited slip?!? I NEVER had that happen to me last year, and everytime i try swing the rear end around, whichever side is on the inside( passenger or driver) It will just sping like a son of a bitch and the other side will take the corner normally?

I always thought bother tires locked up together and wouldnt give the slip stopper its giving me, and I;m not liking it at alllllll..

Have i ****ed up my differential? Maybe a senser is gone? I always turn my traction off when i want the wheels to break lose?

Thanks for the asnwers in adnvance guys, please dont flame. Its a legitimate question that may save me money in a little bit!

Welcome to the forums, and yes, you fu**ed up your diff. It's gonna need a rebuild, the clutch pack in it is gone is what it sounds like. As stated, you can rebuild it, or new oem units run about $200 or so which is probably the easiest way to go. As far as normal driving, I'm pretty sure you'll be ok, it just won't do burnouts anymore. And not trying to give you the older and wiser b.s. (I'd have done the same sh*t if I had a Mustang at 17), but take it easy on the throttle, sport.

Yea sounds like your traclok is gone. Not impossible to do yourself but it is somewhat difficult. They're not too expensive though. While the rear end is apart why not do gears and/or a built rear end? That's probably what I'd do anyway.

^ I'm not sure he's "ready" for gears n' stuff like that yet. IMO, he needs to break a few more things and learn to appreciate his ride a little more. I'm sure it's just parking lot burnouts and crap like that, but from his post I fear that his current driving habits and cocksureness is gonna get (1)his car (2)himself or (3) even worse, somebody else hurt.
