Default finally made it to the drag strip last night .... i sucked

met doug and adam there. really cool guys

i was running slow as ****, and my problem is 2nd gear, i am literally blowing the tires off it when i put it in 2nd and have to let off the throttle. i think thats what is killing my times, and i was pretty excited the first time i chriped 4th

anywho i made 8 passes and my best slip reads as so

r/t ------ .562
60'-------2.137
330------6.129
1/8-------9.321
mph------77.89
1000-----12.039
1/4------14.321
mph-----99.30

i found the car launched the best at ~2k rpms and no matter what i did pretty much every pass was a 14.3 @ 99

i was on street tires so im fine with a 2.1 60' and my tire pressure was set at ~22psi, but i found out afterwards the tire pressure gauge is 5psi off so i was really at like 17 psi...which could have been part of the problem, its also falling on its face in 4th

i also need rear control arms big time

pics of the car after i washed it today

I would hold it in third if possible without hitting the rev limiter. You could try a little taller tire.

im not staying in third that far past redline, not trying to blow it up. everyone was running slow, im sure the others that were there will chime in

i just really need to figure out my 2nd gear spinning issue, i know for a fact it would at least pull a 13.9 or 14.0 if i wasnt blowing the tires off in 2nd

Sounds like you should play around with not running 1st so long. Your on track with trying to find a way to get your tires to stick in second.

i am shifting at like 5500-5800. i think i just need to let the rpms drop on the 1-2 shift and granny shift....and i meant to try doing that, but once i launched i completely forgot about trying that untill i was in like 4th lol

Yep track sucked wed nite, culdnt go any better then 13.5 at 100...I was 60 fting just fine but it wasn't there on the big end, whitefoxgt was also down 3 to 4 mph... Just wasn't a good nite to run the cars.

As for ur 2nd prob, w street tires I still shift fast, but quickly roll into the gas not just go wot... Works for me, gives it a split second to hook up

Hell prep wasn't even great, track was having a hard time holding 4500 launches... Which is 1000rpm lower then my usual, wasn't happy about that

And I hurt my rear prty bad... Chances are it MIGHT make it out one more time on the bottle, but its soon undergoing some serious changes... N ill have alota **** for sale lol

He has 3.73's.. And with stock diameter tires i would hope that he isn't holding 3rd...

You should be running in the 13's no problem with a 100+ trap... Grabbing 2nd gear is indeed tough to do on streeet tires. i find it easier to launch 1st gera at the track than get 2nd to hook.. Yet on the street i dont spin. Makes ZERO sense.

Nice car but if those are pics of after it was washed, why did you leave the window chalk on?
