i thought dss had some problems in the past? maybe they fixed them but either way i went with MMR Mod800 and im happy with it. They notched the pistons and no extra charge and they have great customer and technical service. Great product overall.

If I go with an MMR short block (MMR 4.6 street mod 600) will I just be able to slap on the PI Swap (heads cam and intake) and exchange parts from my non PI engine so that I can avoid having to buy a long block?

Thanks

Everything will bolt right back on just like it did on your old motor

Edit: Make sure they are using the same number of bolt crank that you have right now or else you are gonna need a new flywheel. I would replace the flywheel and get an upgraded clutch while the engine is out anyways.

Dude while you're at it you might as well do a full interior weight reduction and upgrade to brembos all around theres no point in being that fast but not be able to stop it or not be at race weight!!!

I get what your saying, but upgrading the clutch on a 98 gt that will soon be in the 400rwhp range is a no-brainer if the engine is already out. This will save the OP a huge headache down the road, not to mention a few hundred dollars in labor if he gets it done by a shop. Flywheel isn't necessary, but it will cost at least $50 to resurface the stocker anyways. You can find cheap deals on aluminum flywheels if you shop around.

What does a mmr block cost? What HP are they rated at? Sorry on the bb and its hard to look at websites (but for some reason mustangforums works pretty good heh)

Oh yeah,

Aaaannnnndddddddd while ur at it, if ur gonna spend the money on all the above parts, might as well go ahead and buy urself a nice blower to make good use of all that investment haha

MMR has all sorts of blocks. right now thier mod 600's are runnin $2499. they have options on top of that, that some people swear by, like ARP studs, felpro gaskets, etc.

check em out at www.modularmustangracing.com

if i ever decide to up to boost i'll prolly be gettin one of thier mod 900s. problem for me is having the time to swap, other priorities(suspension), and of corse the cash.

After throwing adding all the recommended options, it ended up just being cheaper for me to get the better shortblock.....I ordered an MPH 800hp shortblock though
